We left the Stuart highway to venture on the unmade Buchanan Highway. Fortunately it was in fairly good condition, the water crossing were manageable and despite Faye's fears the 187 kms was uneventful. We stopped at the Top Springs Hotel a colourful outback pub in a remote part of the Northern Territory cattle country. Unfortunately we felt so dirty and tired when we arrived we forgot to take a photo of the hotel. The hotel stands alone in the wilderness and we were surprised to see lovely lawned sites on which to set up our camper.

This Brahman bull blocked our way before heading off to the side of the road
New bridge under construction; a detour took us down into the creek bed and up to the highway again.
