We drove the remaining 178kms of the Buchanan highway. There were approximately five river and creek crossings covered with water and many more dry creek beds. We passed Victoria Downs Station, the Northern Territory's largest cattle station.
We also drove in to have a look at Kidman Springs Research Station passing a herd of Brahman cattle and this wonderful Brahman bull. After driving about 5kms off the highway we met Jillaroo, Elenore, who told us the springs could only be accessed by helicopter; we said our goodbyes and went on our way.
We were thinking of camping at Jasper Gorge but the campground was deserted and we could not find a walking track into the gorge so decided to move on.
